Feeding the soul since 1993
An iconic destination painted with cherished memories from years gone by. Harry’s continues to delight locals and visitors with it’s warm friendly atmosphere and lovingly crafted seasonal menus.
In the heart of Exeter

Set within a beautiful Victorian building, Harry’s has been part of Exeter’s dining scene for more than three decades. What began as a relaxed place to eat has grown, carefully and naturally, into one of the city’s most loved restaurants. Still family-run and hands-on, Harry’s is known for food that is honest and thoughtfully prepared, service that is warm and attentive, and an atmosphere that feels special without ever being formal. It’s a place to linger, to celebrate, and to return to, familiar, welcoming, and quietly confident in what it does.
Stories and accolades
Family at the table
Harry’s is, and always has been, a family-run restaurant. Led by a mother and her daughters, alongside a close-knit team who have grown with the restaurant over many years, there is a genuine sense of care in everything that happens here. From the way guests are welcomed to the attention given to every plate, the people behind Harry’s are present, proud, and deeply invested. It’s this continuity, familiar faces, shared standards, and a love for what they do, that gives the restaurant its warmth and keeps people coming back time and again.

The place we call home
Much of what appears on the plate at Harry’s has travelled only a short distance to get here. We favour local farms, growers and producers, guided by the seasons and by long-standing relationships built on trust and shared standards. It’s a way of working that keeps our cooking honest, rooted, and closely connected to the place we call home.
